Located in Washington, D.C., the American Studies Program (ASP) is the flagship off-campus study program of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU). Since opening in the fall of 1976, over 2,800 students with majors across the social sciences spectrum have attended the program. Focused on leadership and professional development, ASP gives students the opportunity to enroll in a Leadership and Vocation seminar, an internship program, a professional mentorship program, and one of two study tracks: Public Policy or Global Economy & Sustainable Development.
The mission of the American Studies Program is “to provide an off-campus study experience that bridges CCCU campuses and Washington, D.C. through intensive professional and academic engagement with leading institutions, professionals, and the local peoples and cultures of the nation’s capital in ways that challenge students to connect biblical faith with public life and vocation.”
